Faccia Bella is owned and operated by makeup artist Rachel Kirk, of Baltimore, Maryland. Her career journey has been a long and note worthy one. Kirk first realized her love of the art while studying to be an actress in Towson University’s Theatre Arts program. There she had the wonderful opportunity of studying the creative art of stage makeup with the Baltimore makeup artistry and performance duo, Marianne Wittelsberger & Steve Bauer, also known as “The Jokesters.” This is when Kirk had her first inkling that she may find more passion for the stage, working behind the scenes. After working on a few local Baltimore productions, she went on to receive her artistry license at Chesapeake School of Esthetics in Annapolis, Maryland. Not long after, she was hired on as a makeup artist for Trish McEvoy product line. This slowly but surely allowed Kirk to build her freelance career, working on weddings and other special events. Fate would have it that when Kirk took the plunge and moved to New York City in hopes of giving acting another shot, her makeup artistry received more attention than her dramatic wares! She was privileged enough to land fashion gigs with such photographers as Corey Hayes and Sharon Bushman, further developing her style, described as naturally classic. All the while Kirk continued her work in special events, always pondering new ways to use her talent to help others. Finally, Faccia Bella was born. When realizing that she found great joy in helping women build a makeup “Wardrobe,” she decided to start working as a personal shopper, and consultant - giving women the chance at not only a makeover, but a complete product overhaul and technique advice. She hopes that her help will allow women to see their true beautiful face, or Faccia Bella. By helping to create a quick and easy, personally designed makeup application regiment, wearing makeup should become less intimidating and more tailored to the client’s needs. This idea has recently developed into more extensive advice sessions for groups, known as Faccia Bella Makeup Revelry!
