🫖 TEA TIME ALERT 🫖 Back in January I left my job at Jerry’s to take on the role of Community Partner Liason and develop curriculum in collaboration with Saya Woolfalk for her Woods Woman Method Workshop series!!!
Commissioned by the Austin Arts, Cultural, Music and Entertainment (ACME) Art in Public Places (AIPP) program for a permanent, large-scale installation at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Woolfalk’s project invites community members to help shape an immersive, site-specific story world grounded in Austin’s cultural and ecological landscape.
The Woods Woman Method combines art, storytelling, and cultural research to explore identity, hybrid beings, and human relationships to nature. Drawing on the concept of “Empathics”—part-human, part-plant figures—the method uses imagination, myth, and cross-cultural influences to envision new ways of being and belonging. Through a series of community-centered workshops across 4 different Austin organizations, participants will contribute creative research that reflects their lived experiences, environments, and histories.
For the past several months my work and research process has been 🤫 TOP SECRET 🤐 but now the time has finally come where we can share!! Come meet Saya and my coworkers and learn all about what we’ve been doing 😌 This has been such a fun project to work on!
From : “Join us on Saturday, May 30th at 11 AM for a conversation with artist .
