Concert photography is chaos. Lights changing on you constantly. We make adjustments on the fly to our cameras to try and mitigate underexposure. Of course, the lighting director is going to put on a great visual show for the crowd, but we (photographers) often have to do some (to a lot) of post-editing.
Before/After sample:
The is Adam Cyran from A Farewell To Kings - AF2K Tribute whom I recently shot a few days ago. The lights we minimal at this point and I changed my ISO to 10000 to get more light (and subsequently more noise) in the image. As you see, it was still a pretty dark image at the start. With the before/after is a short video of how the editing made this image a keeper.
