One of the most practical boundaries I’ve learned: sometimes the best response is silence.

Silence can’t be misquoted.
It can’t be screenshotted and passed around.
It can’t be twisted into something you didn’t mean.
Once words leave your mouth (or your phone), you lose control of them.

Silence keeps things simple.
When conversations turn unproductive…
when someone is trying to pull you into drama…
when you feel the urge to defend yourself to someone committed to misunderstanding you…

Silence is often the wisest move.
Not every comment deserves a reply.
Not every accusation deserves a defense.
Not every misunderstanding needs to be corrected.
Sometimes the clearest boundary is simply choosing not to engage.

Silence can never be misconstrued.

One thing I’ve learned about myself: I am terrible at gallery walls. 😅

Thankfully my interior decorator Anne is not. She came in and completely transformed this staircase wall and somehow made all these frames work together perfectly. I love how it tells a little story as you walk up the stairs.

Now don’t mind the paint situation on this side of the wall. When my house flooded during Hurricane Helene, we had to do renovations and the painters never finished repainting this section. It’s been on my to-do list ever since.

But honestly I’m kind of glad it worked out this way, because Anne is going to help me choose the perfect color and I know it’s going to look even better when it’s finished.

Moral of the story:
Find people who are better at things than you are and let them help. 🤍

Anyone else love a good gallery wall but have no idea how to actually hang one?

One of my very best friends and the friend I’ve known the longest — Julia Davis. 💙

We’ve been through so many seasons of life together, and it’s always special getting to show up for things that matter with people who’ve known you for years.

Some people love fancy things.

My dad loves sparkles. ✨

Not the jewelry kind… the four-legged kind wrapped in a beach towel on a boat.

This photo is a couple years old, but it perfectly captures him.
Big strong guy. Boat captain for the day. And completely wrapped around the paw of a little dog named Sparkles.

If you know my dad, you know this is exactly how he is.
Soft-hearted. Loyal. And always the first one to scoop up a dog who’s a little cold.

Sparkles may think she owns the boat…
but really she owns him. 🐾

And honestly?
That’s one of my favorite things about my dad.

Do you have someone in your family who is “the dog person”? 🐶

And I’m back from my 60-day media fast… here are a few moments from along the way and some new things I tried:
1. Ballroom dancing
2. Working on my back handspring (almost there!)
3. Baking a new Martha Stewart cookie recipe
4. Attending the Giselle ballet with and my sister-in-law
5. Going to JLA’s Toast event (Mardi Gras theme — so much fun)

Tomorrow I’m attending Circle for Children’s Light the Way Gala, and I’m so excited about how special it’s going to be.

The biggest thing I’ve learned in life is the importance of staying connected to community.

And now that my media fast is officially over… I’m even going to try online dating again. Wish me luck. 😊

This photo I took instantly took me back to one of my favorite childhood books: Tuck Everlasting 🍃
The quiet mystery of water, time standing still, and the question of what it really means to live well.

“What we don’t know keeps the door open.”

This story shaped how I thought about eternity, choice, and the beauty of an ordinary life long before I had words for those ideas. If you’re looking for a meaningful gift—especially for a thoughtful child or nostalgic adult—this book is timeless.

I don’t have a link and I don’t earn any commission, but I bought the paperback on Amazon years ago for only $5.99, and it’s still one of the most worthwhile purchases I’ve ever made.

Some stories stay with you forever. ✨📖

Lately I’ve been reminding myself that discipline isn’t punishment—it’s a kindness to my future self.

Today’s small reset: cleaning one surface, lighting a candle, and putting my phone down for a bit.

What’s one tiny thing you’re doing today to make your home (and heart) feel lighter?

✨ Glass Jar Terrarium + My Media Fast Experience ✨

I’m so excited to make this little terrarium soon 🌿 When I went on my media fast in August, I gave up all forms of media—even fiction books (because escapism counts!).

Since I couldn’t watch YouTube DIYs, I decided to get a library card 📚 and check out books instead—like this one on Winter Flowers! It’s crazy how many new experiences I had that month just by unplugging.

Honestly, this post probably won’t get much traction 😂 because Instagram is media—but I want to encourage you to try it for one month. 💛
If you’re interested, reach out and we can do it together! (No sponsorships or paid stuff here, just something that genuinely changed my life.)

During that month I:
🌸 Took an in-person Mahjong class
💬 Spent more time with family and friends
💖 Found deeper intimacy with the people I love most

And truly—get a library card. Your local library is full of hidden treasures waiting for you. 🕯️📖

✨ Paris is always a good idea… ✨
Even if it’s AI for now, this dreamy image has me officially adding Paris to the top of my bucket list 🗺️🇫🇷

I’m not just going for the photo ops—I want to soak up every bit of the culture… the art, the food, the history, the quiet cafés. 😍

📍If you’ve been to Paris, I’d love your help planning my future trip!
➡️ What are your must-visit spots?
🍷 Favorite restaurants or hidden gems?
🖼️ Any off-the-beaten-path museums or experiences?
