This past year brought opportunities with senior and family portraits, dance and music performances, art and scenic photography for wall art in client’s homes and my annual participation leading the photography team for the Night to Shine Prom Event!

Amazing music on Friday night with “September in the Park” at Gas South District Theater in Duluth, GA, featuring our son in law Jeff on trumpet! The band is so talented and it was such a fun night! We can't wait to hear them perform again soon! Had fun taking photos during the performance!

One of my photos appeared in today’s AJC/Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper/and online!

In addition to portrait photography - I thoroughly enjoy taking photos of musicians and performers! One of the artists I’ve photographed is Joe Gransden and his Big Band when they perform at the beautiful Eagle Theatre in Sugar Hill! Our son In law Jeff has played In his trumpet section!

They will be the closing finale at this weekend’s Atlanta Jazz Festival! (Day 3, Mon. May 26 at 9:00 pm)

It may be the first day of spring, but it is super windy and getting colder by the hour here in Georgia! I have served on our Public Arts Commission in Suwanee for several years and you’ll notice several new art pieces popping up around the parks and town as part of the 2025 Sculptour! These are just a few of my personal fun photos, but I’ve been fortunate to have some time to check out some of the new installations! See if you can find some and take YOUR photo *with* the art! It was a treat to be the red carpet photographer for the 2023 Night to Shine Prom at Gwinnett Church!

I lost count how many we had in attendance! They were having so much fun! The dancing and music was awesome and the candy line was long!!! There were some great performers along with an awesome DJ to keep everyone on their feet and cheering - ending with a balloon drop at the end!

Photographing the Opelika Songwriter’s Festival this weekend - For those of you who don’t know - Opelika (pronounced Oh-Pell-like-uh, with the accent on “like”) is right next to Auburn, like Suwanee/Sugar Hill, Kenmore/Barberton, Pittsfield/Lenox, so I’m staying at the Madison Hoff “hotel” in Auburn. 🙂 ! Bonus visit on a non-gameday weekend with our Senior in college girl! Savoring every moment!

I first learned of songwriters festivals on 30A. 3-4 years ago, an Auburn/Opelika couple started one in their backyard and now it has grown to several nifty venues in Historic Opelika.

What interesting people, with amazing stories and talent you may never experience unless you attend one of these festivals. This is something my late brother would have absolutely loved.

I brewery-hopped and speakeasy-hopped all afternoon and evening back and forth to the venues to capture everyone I could. If you’ve never heard an artist solo in a listening room, give it a try. You’ll feel like you know who they are, not just what their songs are.

Tonight I ended with a show from Kristian Bush, the guy from Sugarland. Great musician and could be a stand up comedian! So fun!

Tomorrow is a full day with 3 headlining acts - Gold Pine, Rickie Lee Jones and the Indigo Girls.
