The DeKalb Health Summit & Community Resource Expo is hosted by Emory Healthcare and offers a platform to learn about various health resources, engage with community health workers, and participate in discussions aimed at improving community health. Among the panelists is AWC Executive Director Doris Mukangu. This is an opportunity for to connect with other organizations, gather valuable resources, and explore potential collaborations to support the roles we all play in achieving health equity.
The expo is taking place today, February 6, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the House of Hope Atlanta, located at 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur, GA 30034.

dstdac It’s , and today’s Luminary Awardee spotlight is Doris Mukangu and the Amani Women Center!
While volunteering at the DeKalb County Board of Health in 2005, Ms. Mukangu recognized a major need among the underserved African women refugees and decided to do something about it.
Starting with health education, she helped the refugee women navigate the health system, and later added other services and programs including the@amaniwomencenter Sewing Academy. We are for her contributions to serving the refugee community in DeKalb County!
