When parents tell me, “I’m so worried my kids are wild,” I always smile… because wild kids make the best photos.

Seriously.

When they’re running, laughing, being goofy, not standing still for more than three seconds… they’re actually more in the moment than most adults are.

Adults know what’s happening. You booked the session, paid for the photos, you’re hoping everyone behaves and smiles at the same time like a tiny miracle.

But kids? Kids are just living.

That’s why I love photographing them.

They are the purest form of authenticity we have.

Before every session, I coach parents and tell them the same thing: let your kids be kids.

They will lead the session, and I’ll follow them.

I’ll give gentle prompts, guide where needed, and create space for connection, but I’m never forcing stiff moments that don’t feel like you.

That’s what sets me apart.

I’m not here to manufacture a fake perfect version of your family.

I’m here to document the real one.

She showed up in a black robe and a bodysuit…and I was so here for it!

And I loved that for her. No overthinking. No “is this too much?” No trying to fit into what maternity photos are supposed to look like.

Just her in her element.

We shot this maternity session in Marietta a few hours before sunset, kids running around, dad staying close, everything a little chaotic in the best way… and she just leaned into it.

This is their third baby, so there’s a different kind of confidence here.
Sure of who she is and it shined so bright!
Sure of how she wants to remember this.

And that’s the part I wish more moms understood…

You don’t have to show up soft and neutral and perfectly styled to belong in your own photos.
You can be bold.
You can be different.
You can wear the thing you weren’t sure about.

You can just be yourself… exactly as you are in this season.
