There is something so special about being photographed at home.

Not because the house is perfect or styled… but because it’s yours.

It’s the place your kids are growing up in right now.
The backyard they run barefoot through.
The home that holds all of your normal, everyday moments that probably don’t feel important while you’re living them.

But one day they will.

That’s why I love in-home family sessions so much.

They feel less like performing and more like simply existing together as you are in this season.

The kids are usually more comfortable.
Everything feels slower and more relaxed.
And the photos end up holding so much personality because your real life is naturally woven into them.

As a Marietta photographer, these sessions have become some of my favorite stories to document because they carry a different kind of nostalgia.

Not just what your family looked like…

but what life actually felt like here.

Photos will always hold a moment still in the most beautiful way.

But film adds something different.

The movement and the way your family interacts when no one is trying too hard because the way I film does not feel like you are being filmed at all.

There’s a level of nostalgia that video carries that photos simply can’t replicate on their own.

And the older I get, the more meaningful those little moving moments become.

That’s why I started offering heirloom films as add-ons to my sessions.

Because some seasons of life deserve to be remembered in motion, too.

Maybe the problem isn’t that you’ve lost your creativity.

Maybe your mind just hasn’t had enough peace to access it lately.

I think a lot of photographers are creating while constantly consuming.

Scrolling. Comparing. Absorbing everyone else’s work, opinions, strategies, styles, and expectations all day long.

And after a while, it becomes really hard to hear your own voice underneath all of that noise.

I’ve noticed the moments where I create my best work are usually the moments where I feel the most grounded.
The least distracted.

The least focused on what everyone else is doing because scrolling is something that’s hard to break in our world now.

Because creativity needs space.

And I don’t think our minds were meant to constantly consume at the level we do now and still feel deeply connected to ourselves creatively.

So if your work has felt disconnected lately… maybe you don’t need more inspiration.

Maybe you just need more peace and quiet.

Keepsake films are now an add on to every session!

When parents tell me, “I’m so worried my kids are wild,” I always smile… because wild kids make the best photos.

Seriously.

When they’re running, laughing, being goofy, not standing still for more than three seconds… they’re actually more in the moment than most adults are.

Adults know what’s happening. You booked the session, paid for the photos, you’re hoping everyone behaves and smiles at the same time like a tiny miracle.

But kids? Kids are just living.

That’s why I love photographing them.

They are the purest form of authenticity we have.

Before every session, I coach parents and tell them the same thing: let your kids be kids.

They will lead the session, and I’ll follow them.

I’ll give gentle prompts, guide where needed, and create space for connection, but I’m never forcing stiff moments that don’t feel like you.

That’s what sets me apart.

I’m not here to manufacture a fake perfect version of your family.

I’m here to document the real one.

(these are all pull backs from a session without showing the kids faces per mamas request)
