Meg Porter currently resides in the Atlanta area, though she was born across the country in Fremont, California. Combining the best of both worlds, Meg was raised both in the city and the country, which allows her to understand both life styles and incorporate that appreciation into her art. She became interested in photography when she was given a camera as a present over a decade ago. Once the f

irst picture was taken, she discovered she had a knack for catching interesting images and proceeded to follow the passion with much love and devotion. New to the scene and recently graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Meg is working her way into the photography world by utilizing skills learned under the tutelage of several well-known professionals. Currently in school to obtain her BFA in Photography at Georgia State University, she is working towards becoming a photography professor. It’s not about the glass being half full or half empty or about how perfect things need to be. When I look at scenes, at people, at things; it’s my passion for photography that allows me to express the world in the frame that I see it. I understand that images are always interpreted the way you see them, but I want you to connect with my art. I would like you to feel a small stirring of recognition somewhere deep inside when you see the photograph I’ve made.

I am wandering. In a city full, over 8 million people, moments are fleeting. I am blessed to know art, to do artful things. But I am at my most peaceful when art finds its way to me. I can’t wait to share my with you all.
