Persona. That’s the thing I love most about creating portraits. A successful portrait captures a person’s soul. It captures who a person is. There are several ways to make sure your persona is captured in a portrait.
❁ Clothing -- make sure the clothing you wear represents your personality, like your favorite skirt, favorite shoes, or a band tee shirt.
❁ Setting -- make sure the place you choose for the portraits is meaningful to you, like your first date, or your favorite place to spend time together.
❁ Accessories -- bring jewelry (not too much), tattoos, shoes, glasses, hats, head bands, jackets, your car or MOTORCYCLE, bring a picnic, your favorite beer, pizza, books/comics, a kite, etc.

04.20.2020 — one of my favorite days this year, Brook’s wedding day!

I love how Brook did not let Covid-19 steal her joy.

She’s a woman of strength and determination (recently she was walking around— coaching gymnastics!! DJing!! —with a broken foot and didn’t know). She’s an entrepreneur with so many jobs and titles— I can’t count (including that one important role, Mama Bear).

Sierra and John have lived in a couple of different cities together. I don’t think Charlotte is their favorite, but it is an eclectic mix of all of the things they love: live music, beer/wine festivals, good food, and sports.

If you ever visit Charlotte, one of my favorite areas is The South End. The neighborhood hosts fabulous restaurants, colorful street art, and quite a few breweries.

I legit started crying when Liz told me she was pregnant. The miracle of life is beautiful, and I knew she would be an amazing, protective mama.

That being said, you can TOTALLY see the bond Liz and her daughter share in this mommy and me photo. That’s why I believe in-home lifestyle photos are important to have. Posed baby pictures are beautiful, but all you see is love when a mother holds her baby 🥰 [and I still tear up when I see these two 😭]

Ellie's dad, Raj, bought her a sports team onesie for every team he supports. I'm pretty sure they even have a special tradition for victories! I think he will continue to buy these outfits for her as she gets older-- hashtag GIRL DAD, am I right?

It's important to capture these moments, so you can share the beginning of these special traditions with your child.

Do you/will you dress your child in fan gear? That includes books, brands, movies, tv shows.

My child will definitely have a lot of art/Frida Kahlo/sunflower onesies/blankets. Any sportswear will be devoted to NY and ATL teams.
