How gorgeous is she!? You wouldn’t know she was shy and timid, but by the end of it, she was killing it, and we became best friends while she watched me almost fall in the lake at least 10 times 😅 so worth it!

The sweetest laid back newborn session 🤍

It’s so easy to let the world, especially social media, convince us that taking pictures means we have to have it all together. The perfectly coordinated outfits or the spotless home. The perfectly posed baby, and the picture-perfect family.

But sometimes, the expectations we put on ourselves just make everything harder than it needs to be.

You don’t have to keep up. You don’t have to recreate someone else’s photos or make your newborn session look like anyone else’s.

You just have to show up as you are.

Because years from now, I don’t think you’ll care whether everything was perfect. You’ll care that you have these little pieces of this season—the sleepy snuggles, the tiny details, the way you held your baby, and the love that filled the room.

That’s the kind of beauty I want to photograph. 💗

Sometimes the best sessions are the ones that weren’t part of the original plan.

After watching the forecast fill up with rain and Mackenzie’s baby’s arrival date any day now, we made a last-minute decision to move this session inside—and I’m so thankful Mackenzie was willing to roll with the change.

And goodness, I am SO glad they did.

These images are everything I hoped for and more.

The soft light, the genuine connection, the anticipation of meeting their little one—it all came together so beautifully.

Moments like these remind me that sometimes the unexpected changes end up being the biggest blessings.

There is something so sacred about these first few days. The tiny fingers wrapped around mama’s hand, the sleepy stretches, the soft newborn cuddles, and the way an entire family seems to revolve around one precious little life.

Every newborn session reminds me just how quickly these moments pass. The newborn scrunch fades, the tiny features change, and before you know it, these first days become cherished memories. That’s why I love documenting them. The fleeting details, the overwhelming love, and the beautiful beginning of a family’s newest chapter.
