What is a compliment clients always give me?

Now this isn’t always, BUT!!! A compliment that I get often is, “oh my gosh you truly captured the moment!!!” or “Wow you really made this so much fun!”

There are others, but those are my favorite😍😍😍 knowing I have immortalized a precious memory for someone or took away the stress is everything to me ♥️♥️♥️

What is a policy that I have that comes from a place of love rather than a sense of rigidity?

My policies vary depending on the type of sessions obviously, but one that carries across all my business is that I will never edit out who you are. If you want me to brighten your teeth, that’s fine! I’ll remove blemishes if you would like. I will even out skin tone if that will make you happy.

But I will NOT:
- alter your body shape to fit a “standard” because YOU are beautiful, no matter what society may say.
- get rid of pieces that tell your story. Your story matters and the scars are a part of that journey. (If you have scrapes or bruises, that is different ☺️)
- make you look unrecognizable.

I will capture YOU and everything that entails. I will help you find your “angles,” but I will not change who you are ♥️

What part of a session do I love the most?

Unveiling the genuine.

Not just reactions to my work, but when I am able to capture pure, genuine moments of people just existing. When I get to connect and build relationships with my clients and they become family. When the walls come down and there is just bliss.

That is my absolute favorite part. When everything just makes sense ♥️♥️♥️♥️

What behind the scenes habit makes sessions smoother?

If you know me, I check, double check, and check again. I create vision boards for each session as soon as a client books, if I am doing something new, my husband, SIL, or friend gets to become my model for me to test out different settings for something, and I make sure I have everything I need days before a session.

This helps my day of run smooth and stress vanishes.

What is something I say or do to calm the nerves and jitters during a session?

My big thing is making sure each and every client feels safe, seen, and heard. I start off by reassuring that they have full say in how today goes. If I suggest a pose, or tell them to try something and they are not comfortable with it or not ready for that yet, they have full say. No means no. I make sure all my clients, men and women, know this before anything!!!

Next thing? Music session, venting session, whatever the client needs. Especially when I do bo***ir sessions, we will have full on snack boards and everything to allow my client to decompress before we begin. I am an open ear and a locked box for them♥️♥️♥️

Building this rapport and trust early on kicks nerves in the butt😂😂

If my work was a music video, what would it be?

This is so hard for me to decide!!!! I am a music lover through and through, so it would really depend on each session.

HOWEVER!!! Anything by Fleetwood Mac, especially like Rhiannon or Gold Dust Woman ♥️♥️♥️

I like to think of my work as fun, even when it is moody, it somehow is still “airy,” which is such a contradiction, I know, but the emotions behind the art always shine through♥️

What are some rituals I have before a session?

- I will obsessively, check, recheck, and check again every single camera battery I own just in case I some how go through all of them
- triple check the necessities
- CAFFEINE!!! Either coffee, a nutrition tea, sweet tea, or dr. Pepper, I have to stock up on my caffeine.
- I blast my pre-shoot music playlist and get ready to work!!!
