Foggy evenings never disappoint.
I have been on the hunt for quiet places to enjoy, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist locations. Well I think we found it. A quiet back road, with little to no traffic. Lush and green at the base of our mountains.

If you are in the Astoria Oregon area and would like some foggy blue hour photos, please reach out. I primarily shoot dogs, but I would love to expand my work to include horses and motorcycles.
I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

They aren't graceful.
Would have been a perfect morning for a moody shoot. But oh well. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment

Our secret spot.
To get these shots I had to stand (quite literally) neck deep in water, hoping beyond hope that I didn't slip on the loose rocks.
I was fairly shocked that Sir was so content just standing in water. He was never really interested in swimming for years, then one day he just decided he was in to it.

If this type of photography is your vibe, you don't mind getting wet, and would like a bit of adventure, then DM me. Lets go find the perfect spot!

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing this sweet girl, Phoebe. She has such a distinct personality and all of the opinions. Doesn't she look so cute in her costume!

Went location scouting with the dogs, with no intention of taking any photos, just looking at the light.
I'm so happy I left the camera at home. I ended up getting lost in the moment and just so happened to see this little duckling scrambling across the lily pads. If I had brought the camera I'm sure I would have missed it.

There is the field right before our local beach, it does not look like much at first. But if you catch it at just the right time of day it glows, making my hounds instantly pop.

In the Mountain Ferns

It was our first time camping without another person. We travelled through the mountains on logging roads. Most of the spots were overgrown, but this space was not. The ground was to rocky to sleep on, so we set up camp in the car.

As the heat of the day gave way to the cool of the evening, we took photos to the sound of chirping crickets and a strange mechanical buzzing that sounded like a drone whizzing by. I set my phone out to see if I could capture this strange sound. Luckily I did. It was a bird! It moved to fast for me to actually identify it properly. All I could see was a quick blur.

We made it to beach just in time for the most stunning sunset I have ever seen here on the coast. The sky was rich with pinks and reds. The ocean glittered with the same light. Almost like they were one. Only broken by the large dark waves on the horizon.

Lesson Learned

This isn't my best photo. This photo was snapped right before I saw my life flash before my eyes..... All I wanted was some photos of her running down the path. I completely forgot that that she is a 55lb wrecking ball that does not care what's in her way. I should have known better.
I watched her through the viewfinder as she came right at me full force, no care for what could happen to either one of us. All I could do was put my right hand out in front of me and stiff arm her. I felt her face smush into my palm. Her full weight lurching forward. I ended up on my butt. I was sure I broke her face. For a second I thought I broke my arm. Nope, we were both completely fine. She popped up and started playing with Sir. I sat there in shock for a brief moment. Then hopped up and checked on her while laughing (and checking around me hoping no one was around to see what just happened).
Lesson learned. When they come barreling down the path, MOVE!
