This page has been pretty quiet the past few months, and I have a little bit of news for all of my JSP family. It has been 14 years since I dove head first into this business. It has allowed me to create an income AND raise my kids from home at the same time. I've met a lot of great clients and colleagues along the way. But sometimes life shifts in a different direction whether you want it to or not.

This past December I lost my husband of 18.5 years. It was an unexpected tragedy and I'm working on building this new life... however... owning a photography business just doesn't fit. Solo parenting 4 kids and running a photography business just won't cut it. This business involves a LOT of evenings and weekends... and now those are going to belong solely to myself and my kids. Time is a thief. I will be taking a LARGE step back from photography. (I still plan to do high volume and commercial work). The cute little studio in town will close by the end of the month. I can't be sad about it... only grateful for the time I could live out a dream. It is time for new dreams and new chapters. Thank you so much for all of the support over the past 14 years. And... for whatever my 2 cents is worth... photographers work their Asses off. So much grit, sweat and tears. It is a tough tough business to be in. We are so personally connected to our work, so find the value in your photographer and the photographs they take. I know I'm forever grateful for my last family pictures. I will treasure them forever.
