On this Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to honor and thank the men and women who have served our country, including my husband, Andrew.

He devoted 21 years to the United States Marine Corps, serving in many capacities, highlighting as a C-130 pilot, and retired last year as a Major.

"COWGIRL": A cowgirl is characterized by traits such as independence, resilience, hard work, confidence, and a strong sense of self. It involves a can-do attitude, integrity, respect for nature and community, and a courageous, pioneer spirit that embraces challenges and stands up for one's values. While the term is also associated with activities like horsemanship, it also fundamentally represents a free-spirited, adaptable, and courageous attitude that extends beyond any specific lifestyle or profession.

I might’ve missed National Day of the Cowgirl yesterday but around here, we celebrate them every day. ❤ I'm beyond blessed to live the cowgirl way of life and to photograph so many strong, beautiful women who live it right alongside me. Real, raw, beautiful souls who don’t need a stage to shine, just a good horse and an open sky.

So, this week, I’m making up for it by spotlighting a few of my favorite cowgirl portraits. Stay tuned… one of them might just be you! 😉

“He looks so beautiful in these photos, that I'm already feeling sad about letting him go.”

That’s what my recent client said after seeing the sale photos I captured of her pretty gelding. She also shared that those photos made her realize that she should list him for more than she originally planned.
