Very possible aurora tonight! Ky skies look good for viewing. Long exposure photo shots are best. 3-5 seconds is usually enough. If you dont know how to do long exposure on your phone or camera you have time to research the settings. :)

Heads up northern and central US, the aurora could show up tonight. We started quiet at Kp 1 but the forecast surges to Kp 7 (G3) overnight. Naked eye possible as far south as 40N, cameras down to 37N, best near midnight. Get away from city lights and look low to the north.

M/V Dreama G. Woods with Amherst Madison on 5/31. Heading downriver past Russell, Ky. A crewmember works to keep the decks clean from all the coal. Things can get pretty dirty out there on the Ohio.

Named after Kent Furlongs son, M/V Porter J. Furlong boasts 6000 horsepower and has a commanding and respectable presence on the Ohio River.

Built in 1968, measures 60.3'x 21.1'
powered by Cummins N14-M diesels, repowered in 2006 to 900 horsepower.
