I really love my job! I get to connect with families once a year and see the little ones grow up! Thanks for trusting me with such an important job.
How have you displayed your family photos?
My daughter graduated high school, moved out and my son is about to get his driver's license. Man, does the time fly! Those of you with littles, don't forget to document your time with them. I know we hear that they grow up so fast but when it happens to you, you'll truly understand. They are only little for such a short time. They may drive you crazy and steal all your energy but you'll forget about all those times.
I wish I had more photos of my kids when they were little. I'm a photographer, but most of the time I was so busy and phone cameras weren't very good back then - so I don't have as many pictures as I wish I had.
Take a few moments today, pick up your phone or a camera and snap away...watch your children play and take some pictures. You'll appreciate it later....

Today is the last day of school for the 2019 seniors and my daughter!

I hope everyone had a nice memorial day weekend. I know I sure did. I have the best friends ever! Thanks for joining me at the lake and bringing such yummy food.

I LOVE when families invite me into their lives, year after year, to spend a hour with my camera capturing; their growth; their connection; and their LOVE. It's been such a blessing watching these little ones grow up.

Her daddy was doing something very silly behind me...it involved monkey arms, a tv remote and lots of snorting!

Ah, sweet baby.
Having a newborn session within the first couple weeks produces lots of shots of your adorable baby curled up and sleeping...this family waited until this little girl was 6 weeks old so she's wide awake and oh my what a cute expression.
The secret is out! They are expecting a little girl in the not too distance future!
Ah, such sweetness on this beautiful sunny morning!
This mom wrote,
"We ADORE our images from our in-home session with Linnae! My favorite image is of our entire family tickling each other and roughhousing on our bed. It was totally un-staged and Linnae just said "Ok, now have a tickle party" and our kiddos let loose in such a sweet way. I really love how each image Linnae captures really evokes an emotion. I find myself not looking so much at my face, etc., but at how happy and genuine we look as a family. There's something about the way Linnae shoots that just intricately and raw-fully captures an entire season of life that we're in, all in just a matter of minutes. All of our images from Linnae are so pure, full of joy, and simply beautiful, that I couldn't imagine not having them hanging on the walls of our home forever."
And this folks, this is why I do what I do and why I do it the way I do it. It's nice to look back at our kid's photos and see how they looked at that age BUT it's something else entirely when you look at your family photos and really FEEL all the deep seeded, complicated feelings you have for all your family members. I capture pretty pictures and way more than that.
I love a laugh so big that it causes your nose to crinkle! :-)
A session in a family's home is a great way to capture a glimpse of their home life and it provides a warm comfy place to snuggle those babies!
Even with the dead trees, Biltmore Lake is still a beautiful spot for a photo shoot! I am blessed.
I am blessed to be able to help extended families document their brief time together. They came from various cities to celebrate this huge accomplishment. 50 years together. Pretty special!
