Photography by Rudy Conrad

Photography by Rudy Conrad I am a wedding, portrait and landscape photographer based out of Ashburn, Virginia.

The most important part of photographing your event is to hand over photos that reflect the emotions and the essence of your special day. There is a decisive moment-that interplay between feeling, facial expression and body language-that I capture again and again. These are the photos that will bring a smile to your face and have you take a deep breath while you relive the moment not just tomorrow but years from now. You will find my style refreshing but adhering to classic guidelines to ensure that you won't look back years from now and say "What were we thinking." My style will not force you into poses that are not "you"-we will work together to find what works so that we capture the essence of who you are. Allow me to tell your story and capture your decisive moment.

According to Wedding Wire, only the top 5% of wedding professionals nationwide receive this for their excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism within the wedding industry.

Very happy to have received this my first year with Wedding Wire ;)

Another preview from my last wedding of 2017! A few more photos to edit and then I get a well deserved break until late February/early March. What happens then? I will be preparing my studio :)

A first look from my last 2017 wedding!
This was also the first time that I photographed a Chinese tea ceremony and I sure hope to be able to do this again.
Congratulations to Ying and Bill!

It was an amazing sunset on this great fall wedding! Fall always has the best sunsets and sunrises :)
A few more previews of this beautiful wedding from Oak Creek Farm will be up soon.

That facial expression AND some sun flare? I'll take it :)

I don't often get to shoot nigh portraits at weddings but I did while shooting with and for the amazing Julie Gayler Photography.

Tomorrow, I will post a preview of a beautiful fall wedding.
So glad that Facebook allows us to schedule post :) Be here at 10am sharp :)

On my way to my last fall wedding of 2017 :) Weather promises to be nice and warm!

Here is a summer shot of the always amazing

You ever wonder how we do a test shoot before the first look?
I can't use the bride and groom but you are fair game if you are standing around :)
Shot with and for the always amazing Julie Gayler Photography

I love going out and working with other photographers. I shot this with and for Saperstone Studios back in late April. This is Meghan and Chris and their take on a first look. Full speed ahead!

I love this photo because it was absolutely 100% spontaneous. And Megan and Miles picked it as one of their favorites :)
I will be seeing them again in May for their wedding.

You have no idea what it takes to be a groomsmen. Apparently there is some grooming involved. See what I did there? Good times were had!

Let's start the week with this cute dog. He invited me to Harpers Ferry and his owners tagged along...something about getting engaged. Whatever. We all know that it was all about the puppers :)

This is always an incredibly busy time of year for photographers but I do need to post on occasion so here is a photo from one of my family sessions last week :)

Those curls!

Old Town Winchester is a pretty place and I am thankful that there was a restaurant right across from this great location. Was I hungry? Sure, but it was not food that I got from the nice folks at the restaurant. It was a chair :) I am at least two feet too short to pull this photo off without some vertical assistance.

Halfway booked out for next year!

As usual, I drop the ball when it comes to posting regularly. Here is a life sign and I just wanted to say that intimate weddings rock!
Also, 2018 is booking out quickly! If you or someone you know is getting married in 2018, book now.
Heading to Winchester, VA this weekend for a beautiful wedding. I might even remember to post photos :)

Just a few days ago, I met up with these newlyweds and handed them a beautiful framed print of this :)

I am about to leave for a wedding and wanted to share this moment between bride and family. Photos can sum up a lot of emotions and words in just one photo. I wonder why no one has come up with a saying like "A picture is worth a thousand words" :)
Happy Saturday or, if you like cats, Caturday!

Out of all the moments, out all all the photos taken, these are always my favorite. 100% real love. You just have to be in the right place at the right time :)

I am (still) horrible at social media and I won't even promise to post more often.
Anyway, I have a fun season ahead :) I'll do my best to pop in from time to time.

Here are a few from my regular sessions with Victoria from If you are into fashion, follow her on Instagram: vlaxerg

I shot my first birthday cake smash session!
Lots of first because of this awesome family. Back in 2011/2012, the parents were my first couples session and first wedding. They were also part of my first family session, first senior session and lots of other firsts.
Every one needs someone to believe in them. I will always be grateful for Elizabeth and Jordan. And their entire family!

"Hey babe. Want to see my chest?" Believe it or not, these are the most difficult photos to capture. The action on the dance floor is unpredictable so you better be ready :)

A few photos from a recent late fall wedding, It rained, it was humid and it was hot. Every piece of camera gear was fogged up to the point of almost dripping water. But we made it work!

Gina contacted me and said that her son is VERY active. Gina also said that they would be happy with just one or two good photos and I said that I can handle that :)

Here is what Gina had to say after the session:
"Rudy is absolutely amazing! He took gorgeous pictures of our family that we will cherish for a lifetime! He was responsive and professional leading up to the shoot - and had a warm, friendly, and patient attitude during our session. He even got our 2 year old to smile and play in front of the camera. I highly recommend Rudy and will hire him again in the future!!"

And here are the rest from Andrew's and Anita's e-session in OTA. Love that place :) These two lovebirds were great to spend an afternoon with in my favorite place in VA.

Check out this sneak peek from an amazing engagement session in Europe...Only one part of that statement was true ;)
Rest will be coming shortly! How's tomorrow at 10am?!

A few teaser photos from a wedding a week or so ago. Loved the travel theme :) 2941 Restaurant
