🐢 DID YOU KNOW? 🥚🌡️
Sea turtle eggs start out neither male nor female! 🤯

Here’s where it gets really fascinating: the temperature inside the nest helps determine the s*x of the hatchlings. In other words, warmer incubation creates more female sea turtle hatchlings, while cooler temperatures produce more males.

Even within the same nest, temperatures can vary! 🥚☀️ Eggs in the warmer center of the nest often develop into females, while eggs around the cooler outer edges are more likely to become males.

Pretty amazing, right? A little difference in temperature can help shape the next generation of sea turtles! 🌴🐢💚
