Next up in the Michigan Runner Race Series (MRRS) is Event #5, Dexter-Ann Arbor Half-Marathon this Sunday 31 May. That race will also be the RRCA National Championship for that distance. The 4 events we have down so far for the year are Event #1 Super Bowl 5k – Lansing, Event #2 Corktown Races 5k, Event #3 Martian Invasion of Races 10k, & Event #4 Amway River Bank Run 25k. Through September we will have the same events as in 2025, except possibly 1 addition, Saturday 4 July Volksläufe 10k, Saturday 8 August Kayla O’Mara Memorial 5k, Sunday 20 September LMCU Bridge Run 10mi (another RRCA National Championship). To that list we are looking into adding 22 August Crim Festival of Races 10mi. I’m working on October & November. I plan to add 2-3 events over 2025, then for any given scoring runner count only the 10 top placings of the total number of events. The other potential additional events would be in October & November. I am still working on getting the website, https://michiganrunnerraceseries.com, with the calendar & standings under control, hopefully before Dexter-Ann Arbor, so participants will know where they stand.

Sub Venue For Time To Teal Doesn’t Deter Regular Participant Carson Burgess Who Gets The Win

Time to Teal, Sun 10 May 2026, Rolling Hills County Park, 7660 Stony Creek Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, USA.

Carson Burgess annually makes the trip from Brown City, MI in the Thumb to Ann Arbor in memory of his nana & runs in the Time to Teal 5k. Time to Teal benefits the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA), which supports ovarian cancer research & education, plus provides support & resources to survivors & their families. That drive is about 1:35. But this year due to extensive road construction on the regular course for this year Time to Teal was moved to Rolling Hills County Park, making the drive closer to 2 hours. Carson finished the race in 18:46.24 Clock Time, 18:41.81 Chip Time, ahead of all other 5k participants. Familiar Name At The Top Of 60+ Women Standings At Amway River Bank Run 25k, Lisa V

Amway River Bank Run, Sat 9 May 2026, Grand Rapids, MI. The 25k is Event #4 in the 2026 Michigan Runner Race Series (MRRS).

Due to conflicts in her racing schedule & other parts of her life Lisa Veneziano hadn’t been able to run in any of the first 3 MRRS events in 2026. But when Event #4 came up she made the most of it, winning the Women’s Senior Grand Masters (60+) Division. Lisa’s 1:46:06.16 Clock Time, 1:46:02.96 Chip Time for the 25k beat all but 1 of the Men 60+. If we collapse the 60+ into the 50-59 (Grand Masters) she still would have been 3rd. Going further down & collapsing those 2 groups into the Masters (40-49) Division she still would have been 5th. Michigan Runner News Editor Carter Sherline caught up with Lisa V at the Post-Race Celebration where they discussed her race & what she has coming up.
