Anchorage Firefighters Fire Ops 101 post 1/4 - Fire Attack Station. Participants learned how to conduct basic fire suppression operations by practicing on hose lines and then climbing to the 3rd floor of the training tower to fight a simulated room on fire. Although the smoke was fake, the flames and heat were very real. Photos are in relative chronological order, reach out to me for usage inquiries.

A few shots from yesterday's dramatic crash at Seward Hwy & Benson. Unsure on the circumstances of the crash but a garbage truck rolled onto its side and slid into a building, causing a gas leak. Another vehicle sustained substantial damage.

At 9:12 this morning, AFD was dispatched to the area of 4th & Klevin after a passerby reported smoke coming from a mobile home. Engine-3 was first in and called the working fire, with heavy fire visible. Multiple victims were located outside the burning trailer, and additional medics & and an engine were added to the call to assist with patient care. 6 total victims were transported to the hospital, including multiple pediatric patients. Fire attack made quick work of the fire and crews remained on location just over an hour mopping up. ALS-1, Batt-1, Batt-3, Safety-1, PIO, Engine-1, Engine-2, Engine-3, Engine-6, Truck-3, Rescue-4, Tender-14, Tender-9, Medic-3, Medic-6, Medic-81, Medic-814, & Rehab-14 responded.

A little past 8:30 tonight, AFD was dispatched to a residential smoke investigation on Pioneer Dr in the Scenic Foothills area after reports came in of smoke in the garage. As additional information was relayed to units, the response was upgraded to a full residential structure fire, adding an additional engine, truck, and rescue company along with support and command units. Engine-14 was first in and located a fire in the garage and was able to knock it down quickly along with Engine-6 & Truck-3. The assignment was held to those units along with Batt-3 & Medic-814. No reported injuries.

AFD is on scene of what was initially reported as a hazmat incident at the Marriott on A/36th, it now sounds like there was a bear spray discharge inside that affected multiple people
