Okay but can we take a moment for the behind-the-scenes photos? 😂❤️

I was scrolling stories and saw this one from my session tonight and it made me laugh. While sweet mom was snapping a photo of me, I was capturing her precious baby.

Breana, you and your baby are beautiful humans! I can’t wait to work on her gallery!

What most people don’t see is that behind every beautiful gallery is a photographer crouching in the grass, making weird noises, singing random songs, dancing around, and doing whatever it takes to get those genuine smiles. 🤣

And speaking of little ones growing up… somehow the Class of 2027 is about to be SENIORS! 🎓😭

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of conversations surrounding Down syndrome, disability, and the value of human life.

As someone who has had the privilege of photographing events for the Panhandle Down Syndrome Guild, being a dance teacher as well as general education educator for these incredible individuals, and loving family members with disabilities, I wanted to share a few images that we at Darling have had the pleasure of capturing!

When I look through these photographs, I don’t see limitations.

I see joy.

I see determination.

I see friendship.

I see personalities that light up a room and families who love fiercely.

I see people who deserve to be celebrated, included, respected, and valued.

A diagnosis does not determine a person’s worth.

Every human life has inherent value. It is God given! Every person has something meaningful to contribute to this world. Every person deserves to be seen for who they are—not simply a label, a diagnosis, or a list of challenges. God does not make mistakes.

These beautiful souls have taught me far more than I could ever teach them. They remind me daily that kindness matters, inclusion matters, and every life matters.

Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite images from the 2025 Buddy Walk in honor of the incredible individuals in our Down syndrome community. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your stories.

Y’all, have you ever looked at a family and thought, "wow, Mom and Dad are so in love", and you can see that love overflowing into their kids?

This sweet family is new to the Panhandle, and they were such a joy to photograph. As the session went on, each child’s unique personality began to shine, making every moment even more special. From giggles and sweet smiles to their little quirks, it was a reminder of how beautiful family life truly is. This is just the preview, I cannot wait to get done with the entire album!

And can we talk about this location for a second? I am completely obsessed with Palo Duro Canyon right now and love when clients choose this location! The views, the colors, the endless Texas sky—it never disappoints and makes the perfect backdrop for capturing memories like these.
