The beautiful fall weather inspired me to pull my camera gear out after a bit of a break following our move to Georgia. This was my first equine photo session and I have to say… I might be in love 🐴❤️

I have only one requirement for future sessions - clients must bring a friend who knows how to get a horses attention because cute ears are not as easy to get when you’re the photographer. I never thought getting a toddler to smile would be easier!! 😂

So last night was a perfect summer night - full sun, not too hot, gentle breeze, just one of those nights ☀️🥰. Well, I drove to our planned location and there was the most bizarre thick dark fog over it. It was like the enchanted forest in Frozen 2 (except I didn't see Samantha 🍂 or the little fire lizard 🦎, unfortunately).

Luckily I had gotten there early so we were able to do a quick swap to another favorite location of mine nearby. It turned out just fine, and I got to capture so much love between this gorgeous mama and her beautiful little girl! 💕

So remember when I said I was going to post more regularly this year?? 😂 Truth be told - life is busy with my two little ones, my full-time day job has been crazy busy, and frankly I just really don't prioritize social media like I probably should. The great weather has returned though and I've been loving being able to squeeze in some photo sessions here and there to keep my creative heart happy!

Loved this newborn session with baby Shay! She is just the most perfect little peanut, and mom and dad were so sweet and gracious!! 🥰 I swear I get to work with the best families 💜🤍

5 under 5 years old and we pulled it off without any major melt downs!!!! 🙌😅 As mom to a couple of these cuties plus photographer, getting this shot was a little...ok very stressful for me, but luckily I have some great sisters-in-law that helped organize and pull this off on short notice! I love doing our annual cousin's picture and this made the coolest extra large metal print for Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Wrapped up a great year in so many ways with this gorgeous headshot portrait session. It was a wind chill of 23 degrees that day, but Irene kept such a great attitude, commenting on how we were lucky to get such a beautiful day!! 😍 That right there is the kind of optimism we all need in our lives and just the spirit I want to keep with me heading into 2021! Happy New Year!! 🍾

This was my last family session for 2020 and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful relaunching year for my photography business!

Every final image I deliver to my clients is a lot more than just me finding the right lighting and composition, posing them, and taking the photo with the right camera settings. That is a big part of the equation, and something I have been practicing for 7+ years now, but what you don't see is the editing work that goes in after the session.

Every photographer's vision and style is a little different than the next, and that's what's beautiful about it!! For me, I would describe my style as crisp, warm, true to color, and timeless. I like my subjects to pop and the photo to look natural and classic.

I have been working on refining my editing all year trying to find the edit that is just right for me, and I feel like I finally found it! While I was working on editing this session I created and saved a new “secret sauce” for myself in Photoshop (which I have appropriately named after this sweet family). And in my winter down-time I have been playing with some old images in my archives and reediting them to see how this “sauce” works with photos I’ve taken in completely different places with different colors and lighting, and it has been working for just about everything! I will slightly modify it here and there, add a little of this and take out a little of that, but I’m excited to have found a base recipe I love and to be able to make my images true to my vision!!

I can’t wait for 2021!!
