Third try on the masjid teapot and I’m liking this one enough to post it. Ahhh, sweet progress. All praise is to God, Alhumdolehlah. Praying this makes it through all the kiln firings. 🤲🏼 comment: can you see yourself using this?

After I stopped obsessing over perfecting a year-long plan, everything became more manageable. I’ve shifted to planning for just 12 weeks at a time, and I’m achieving so much more. This approach has enabled me to direct my attention and energy towards a few select objectives and concentrate my efforts intensely. It’s like treating one week as if it were a full month, and this concept really motivates me. My daughter introduced me to this strategy and the book “The 12 Week Year.” Have you tried this approach or are you interested in giving it a shot? By the way, the fruit bowl is something I crafted using fig leaves to emboss the texture. It’s ready to be fired!

Yay! It’s finished. ‘The Scale of Humanity’ To date this work has taken me longer than any other. The research on the countries with the most displaced people, the background of the American quilt pattern I laid out as I would have if I were sewing, the projection of the kuffiya pattern traced and embedded into the background, the drawing of each country’s national flower and a landmark, the inking, the penciling, and the painting. Thank you to those who participated and shared their stories of displacement with me. You’re all an inspiration. I’d also like to recognize a few who propped me up when I wanted to fall. For his mentoring and gracious spirit It was his instruction on emulating metal work that made the scale come to life. To the creative community for their loving support of artists and providing physical, spiritual, and emotional space for us. To my husband for understanding I need this. And lastly, Brother, this album ‘When Paths Meet’ was my jam and carried me, by Allah’s grace, to the end. The live concert in Amsterdam a must watch and listen! And above all Alhumdolehlah.❤️🤲🏼
