Parenthood is life lived at warp speed ⏳

But I know one day when the world around us gets a little quieter, we’ll close our eyes and go right back here.

The sound of running feet. Tiny arms wrapped around our necks. Little voices calling for us. Matching jean outfits. The way they only wanted Mommy, but somehow Daddy always got the biggest giggles.

Growing family sessions have such a special place in my work because I know how quickly all of this changes.

Senior sessions always hit a little closer to home for me. 💛

I’ve been photographing Connie’s family for years now, and I’ve gotten to know so many of them through my work with Shiloh Church and family sessions. Now getting to photograph her youngest, Noah, for his senior year.

Noah is seriously one of the most laid-back seniors. We talked about Albion, especially since I have younger kids growing up here too, his siblings, what he wants to do after high school, and where he sees life taking him next.

And of course, football. This kid has so much ahead of him, and I truly hope he gets to chase every goal he has for himself, both on and off the field.

Noah, I hope you have the best senior year. Keep working toward what you want and enjoy this last year of high school. Life is really just getting started.

I almost never schedule sessions in the middle of the day but with rain that morning and more coming that night, we went for it.

We spent the afternoon walking through Highland Park, getting to know each other and realizing just how many of the same people we know. Seriously, such a small world 💫

Sessions like this are such a good reminder that getting comfortable with your photographer before the wedding matters. We had great convos, wandered around the gardens, made some really good photographs, and by the end it felt like we had known each other way longer than an afternoon.

Kenz + Derek, I’m so grateful you chose me to photograph this season of your lives. I cannot wait for 2027. 💛
