Another photo from Kenwood. Sitting just outside the cemetary is an old smokehouse, once used for curing meats. In just about 15 years, it is now completely overgrown with vines.

The ghost of a once thriving racetrack sitting in the mountains of Vermont.

Green Mountain Racetrack was constructed in 1965 for $6 million (the equivalent of around $50 million today). It operated until 1993, and has been sitting vacant, less a few events, since then.

During its hayday, horse racing events were common until 1976, when they were replaced with greyhound racing until its close.

It has changed hands several times, seeing purchase prices of $8 million, $1 million, and $250,000. In 2020, a fire gutted the structure, and while the frame and stands of the building remain, the interior is almost entirely destroyed.

Erected in 1850, abandoned in 1983, and partially collapsed in 2015. This church features original medieval stained glass from the period. After a lackluster effort to convert it to a community center failed in the last decade, the church now sits deteriorating until a complete collapse finally brings it to the ground.

Original photo is a sketch by an unknown artist circa 1850.

Lawrence, the Indian. Displayed in the Schenectady stockade since 1887. According to the historical district: "Lawrence was named after the Christian Mohawk who was a great friend to the early settlers and the most persistent of the trackers of the retreating French and Indians after the 1690 raid."
