You know those old Christmas pictures you find at your parents’ or grandparents’ house? 🥹🎄

The ones where the tree is glowing in the background, everyone is dressed in their Christmas best, and you can’t believe how LITTLE everyone was?

Those photos become treasures.

And someday, the pictures we take of our babies now will be *those* pictures. 🤍

The ones they’ll find years from now and say, “Look how little I was!”

We are absolutely heartbroken over this news.

Today, our family had to very unexpectedly say goodbye to our sweet Remy Roo. And I genuinely don’t know how to put into words what losing him feels like. 💔

Eight years ago, we brought home this little puppy who would go on to become so much more than just our dog. He became family in every sense of the word.

Remy was there for me during the times Dom was away in the military, when it was just him keeping me company and making me feel safe. And honestly, if I was home, Remy was never far from me. He followed me everywhere—always right beside me or just a few steps behind.

That was especially true whenever I was pregnant. Through all three of my pregnancies, he somehow seemed to know that something was different. He would curl up beside me and snuggle right against my growing belly. Then, one by one, he watched us bring each of those babies home and took on the job of loving and protecting them, too. He loved our girls before they were even here. 🤍

He was quite possibly the most loyal dog I’ve ever known. He was gentle, protective, unbelievably sweet, and truly the epitome of “man’s best friend.”

He loved playing fetch. He loved curling up with us on the couch and somehow always finding his way into our bed. And without fail, the second he got out of the bathtub, he would take off through the house with the most ridiculous post-bath zoomies. It’s those silly, ordinary little things that I already find myself missing the most.

There are dogs that come into your life, and then there are dogs that become part of the story of your family. Remy was that dog for us.

He was there through military separations, babies being born, moves, sad moments/happy moments, quiet nights on the couch, little girls growing up, and countless ordinary days in between. For eight years, wherever our family was, Remy was right there with us.

I don’t think eight years could ever have been enough.

Our house feels a whole lot quieter already, and our family feels so incomplete without our boy here.

Thank you for eight years of loving us so faithfully, Remy. Thank you for protecting me when I needed you and then protecting our babies when they came along. Thank you for every snuggle, every game of fetch, every ridiculous zoomie, and every ordinary day we were lucky enough to have you beside us.

We love you with all of our hearts and we will never ever forget you or the impact that you have made on our family.

You were the best boy.

The very, very best boy. 🤍

Until we meet again, Remy. Give Jesus all the snuggles for us. 🤍

✨ A little page maintenance happening over here! ✨

I’m currently working on updating my business page and creating new photo albums that reflect some of the beautiful galleries I’ve had the privilege of capturing over the past year. 📸🤍

So if you see some new photos/albums and photos popping up on your feed, don’t mind me! I’m continuing to work through my editing queue while also taking a little time here and there to organize, update, and give my page some much-needed love.

I’m so excited to have a space where you can easily browse through my work, see more from each session, and get a better feel for the stories I get to capture behind my camera.
