I was having great fun photographing some snakes this weekend.

Whether you are afraid of them, or fascinated by them - and most are afraid of them (with good reason) - can you see the beauty in them?

*disclaimer - I was not the one holding them at any time (obviously, I was taking photos)

Red Tail Monkey

These are wonderful monkeys to be around. They are chatty, sociable, live in large groups and I adore sitting and watching them interact in their own little constant soap opera. There's never a dull moment when they are around!

Hello lovely people, have you missed me? I'm delighted to be back posting again - and hope to continue doing so more regularly from now on.

This is a Cuckoo Bee (Thyreus) and I LOVE the patterning on it. The more you look at it, the more you see. First and foremost, look at the blue markings, it looks like 2 eyes, a nose and then two arms folding inwards - it looks somewhat like a grub. But then look at it another way; look at the joints of the wings as eyes and the blue markings as a nose, the bottom of the back being a mouth and then the arms folding in and it looks JUST like a Preying Mantis.

I've been quiet of late and that's because my laptop was down. I could go into it, but essentially it boils down to a massive frustration with Apple, who asked me to send my equipment to the USA (which cost a fortune) and they said that they'd repair it for free (it's under warranty). Then they changed their mind and refused to repair it unless I paid them $1,200 for a new MacBook Pro screen. ACK!

So I'm now working with a second screen and back up and running again. I won't let Apple deter me - and it certainly SHOULDN'T take anything away from this drone footage taken of Shoebill Storks in Mabamba Swamp.

Enjoy!
