Pursuing Saudade Travel

Pursuing Saudade Travel We are Miguel and Ashton, two travellers from Portugal who love to explore the world and share their adventures.

Saudade (origin: Portuguese): With no direct translation in English, "saudade" beautifully describes the emotional state of nostalgia and longing for something distant that has been loved and then lost. We aim to inspire fellow globetrotters and cover essential information on the locations we visit to help you better prepare for your next destination. Our videos are focused on authentic travel exp

eriences, with a splash of history. We want to provide tips, and trivia and embrace the location's full beauty in a documentary fashion. On our trips, we cover topics such as food - what the destination is known for, and some of the spots and dishes we experienced. Share our experiences about the transportation to and around the location we visit. And of course, our daily experience with attractions, cultural landmarks and general atmosphere of some of the world's most sought-after and also lesser-known destinations. This is just the beginning, and we are extremely excited to have you follow us along this journey. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok: •

This year I got to experience the unique charm of Amsterdam, where historic architecture meets vibrant street life. We enjoyed the picturesque canals, which beautifully showcase the 17th-century buildings alongside the energy of modern urban living. The cosy cafés offer a welcoming atmosphere, contrasting with the frantic cyclists navigating the charming cobblestone streets... and yes, they are fearless! I spent one day on a long layover, and the little time I've had was enough to leave a mark. I cannot wait to return and spend more time with this city.

Earlier this year we had the privilege to visit the fascinating traditional Berber villages of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This was, without a doubt, the absolute highlight of our time in Marrakesh.

We are deeply saddened by the horrific devastation the recent earthquake has left on the region and we are praying for strength for all of those who have been affected by this tragedy x

A former Imperial City, Marrakesh (Arabic: مراكش, Berber: ⴰⵎⵓⵔⴰⴽⵓⵛ) is the Kingdom of Morocco’s 4th largest city and one of Africa’s busiest.

Its ancient Medina and the labyrinth of souks, a kaleidoscope of colours and fusion of oriental aromas, the ochre city of Marrakesh is truly a beautifully chaotic treat for the senses.

One of the oldest cities in in Europe, Portugal’s second city is far from second best; Porto is truly in a league of its own.

Nestled along the Douro River, this historic city is a sought after destination for history, culture and wine enthusiasts.
Port wine, the famous rich and typically sweet dessert wine, originates from this region and while there are other port-styles fortified wines produced globally, one wines from Portugal are allowed to be labelled as “ports”.

Any trip to Portugal’s southern coast should always include a visit to the quiet, slower-paced town of Tavira.

Roughly 40km from the Spanish boarder, Tavira is one of the Algarve’s most charming towns. With its medieval castle, the church of Santa Maria do Castelo housing the final resting places of knights who were defeated by the Moors, a bridge dating back to the 17th century and a traditional Portuguese charm and architecture, this small town packs a powerful punch.

Easily one of the most recognisable locations in Denmark, you would be denying yourself a true pleasure by not following the crowds and allowing yourself to be mesmerised by Nyhavn’s charm.

Meaning “New Harbour”, Nyhavn’s canal is flanked by colourful 17th century townhouses, trendy restaurants and bars, and harbours many historical wooden ships.

Constructed in the 1670’s by King Christian V, the harbour served as a commercial port where it developed a notorious reputation
for sailors seeking alehouses and ladies of pleasure.
In time, the area would be revitalised as its maritime importance grew. Today, it’s loved by tourists and locals alike as a thriving and sophisticated entertainment district.

A global capital of fashion and design, Milan’s presence in the lucrative industry is one to be rivalled.
