Bettina Hutschek Artist Page As Visual Artist, Filmmaker and Curator, I translate society’s phenomena into contemporaneous “myths” and to re-tell old stories anew. Also, I play around.

Feb 28. Birthday walk along the coast of Gozo after waking up to news of yet another war .. The sublime and peaceful blue of the sea almost feels surreal.
Sometimes it feels unfair to feel happy when faced with so much violence and suffering

Just came back from a couple of days embedded in a national park, camping, offline, listening to the surrounding life forms.
The night was filled with loud cricket, monkey and bird sounds, and noise from some larger animals. The ranger told us there was a tiger around. "What do we do if we meet a tiger?" - "just sit still". Luckily there was no close encounter. All of this a stark reminder that we as humans are only guests on this planet we share with others.
The most magical thing was sleeping at 7pm and waking up at 5am to the sound of gibbons in the trees close by.
Struggling to return to a world with motor sounds and quiet nights
