My Camera roll on Day 7 of my 2019 tour. As you can see, it’s sparse. This was a rest day for me, which was very disappointing, perhaps you can see the sadness in my face. Anyone who knew me back then knows I was extremely active and hard to keep up with. However, at that point in time, my health had started to decline with the migraines becoming increasingly frequent, the fibromyalgia flaring up constantly and the fibroids growing. I didn’t know what was happening to my body then, and I still don’t understand it now. I’ve had to learn to take extensive periods of rest, say no to things I love doing, and accept that I will miss out. It’s a change that has been humbling and challenging to come to terms with. After my recent surgery to remove the fibroid tumors, I thought I might be able to reclaim my prior levels of health and activity, but so far that has not been the case. I am constantly looking to find the balance between holding onto hope for improvement and accepting the reality of my life today.
