Carolyn Soemarjono is the woman behind the camera at The Bo***ir Photographer. A professional photographer since 2011, Carolyn was inspired to specialise in bo***ir photography when she was unable to get a Bo***ir photoshoot for herself in Singapore. She is passionate about showing women just how beautiful they really are.

Shoot Tip: ALWAYS bring your favourite heels to your photoshoot. Even if they’re not in the shot, they will affect the way you sit or stand, and importantly, how you feel. 👍🏼

Oh how I wish my morning was like this, lazy in bed, (and I’m quite sure this lovely mama would be keen too) but alas we both have young kids and our mornings look absolutely nothing like this. 😂
But we can still dream and reminisce. ☺️

Hi, I’m Carolyn and I’m The Bo***ir Photographer in Singapore. ⠀
I’m a mum of a 25 year old, a 5 year old and a 4 year old! Long story there. Plus, would you believe I’m a grandmother to a 4 year old as well! Yes, my son and my grandson are the same age. 😜⠀
I’m an Aussie who has called Singapore home for 17 years, and in a previous life I was an Accountant and a HR manager. I left the corporate world after surviving Ovarian Cancer (another story, which includes self diagnosing my cancer using Google), but it is also what led me to following my passion of photographing women and showing them how beautiful they really are. ⠀
Of course I didn’t just jump immediately into Bo***ir Photography, I spent a few years photographying families, and doing lots of LinkedIn headshots for women who hated having their photos taken. The latter helped me realise how much I loved proving to women that they could have a beautiful photo. They just needed to feel relaxed with the right environment and photographer. That desire, plus the dissatisfaction I had with trying to find a suitable bo***ir photographer to help me commemorate my own 40th birthday, led me to create the very women-centric, tasteful, fun, Bo***ir Photography experience that I had wanted for myself. So now I’m totally addicted to Bo***ir Photography. I rarely get my “good” camera out to photograph anything or anyone else… not even the kids. They only get iPhone photos, oh, and the annual family pics that I engage a dedicated family photographer to take for me. ☺ ⠀

The day Ms S came in for her shoot with an array of special outfits was the day I fell in love with long robes. 💕 ⠀
This specific robe was intended for “getting ready” on her wedding day, but (like it is for many brides) things don’t always go exactly as planned on the day. 🤷‍♀️ 😛⠀
At least we got to capture lots of gorgeous shots with this sentimental piece during her bo***ir shoot - and in doing so, created another lasting memory. And perhaps a new obsession for long sheer robes for me? ☺️
