While death marks the punctuation to the life of an individual, funeral photography is seldom employed because of the uncomfortable grieving nature of the event. Indeed a sad event, but each drop of tears, each warm embrace, each heart sunken bow also marks a connection to the deceased. These are the moments that mourners show appreciation to the deceased, lives that the individual has touched. Something that could be captured and remembered by those who remain.

When I was young, often when Mr LKY appeared on TV, family members will say that "...your Ah Gong, is speaking....better listen..." it was only many years later that I understood the pun of it. In this final series of photographs, I dedicate this to you Mr Lee Kuan Yew, although you are my "Ah Gong" who I never met, you inspired me so so much. Thank you for what you have done for Singapore, try as I may, no words can express how I feel. I let the pictures do the talking. 一路走好! 一路走好! - Erwin T

This guy is amazing... he went round the padang informing the crowd on the situation, I followed him...he did this easily 8-10times, and each time he finished talking, the crowd clapped. They felt his effort and sincerity. - Erwin
