The lake is home to local vendors selling their fresh produce and handicrafts to locals as well as tourists on their Shikara. It's a way of life and quite an astounding one.
There is also a physical market on the lake, where you can walk from shop to shop, bargaining for the best price and quality.
In the evenings, this market transforms into a glittering lane with lights dancing across the dark lake water, casting reflections and dancing shadows.
It's an experience like no other.
