Your first branding session might be a little intimidating, so here are five tips to help you prepare for your shoot:
1.) Bring clothes that make you feel confident ⬇️
I always tell my clients to choose outfits that they feel confident and comfortable in. I recommend bringing some outfit options to match the purpose of the session (ex. formal for professional/corporate, casual for creatives) - or a mix of both formal and casual. Solid colours tend to look best, and I suggest avoiding heavy logos and busy patterns.
2.) Share inspiration photos with me beforehand ⬇️
This is super helpful for me to get a sense of the style/colours/posing you like and set goals for our shoot. Feel free to send over a Pinterest board or some photos you like from my page!
3.) Hire a professional makeup artist ⬇️
Not too confident in your makeup skills? I can assure you that hiring a makeup artist will boost your confidence in front of the camera. Your glam will be customized to your unique features, and your makeup artist will take you along every step of the way to ensure you love the final look.
4.) Bring props that adds to the story ⬇️
This can be anything you use in your day-to-day that we can include in your shoot. Other than a laptop or iPad, you can also bring tools of your trade (brushes for a makeup artist, etc)
5.) Get plenty of sleep the night before! ⬇️
This is super important as lack of sleep can make you look tired in your photos, particularly in the undereye area. Drink plenty of water the day before to keep your skin looking fresh.
Being prepared for your photoshoot will help you enjoy the process and be happier with the results. I always aim for a fun and relaxed shooting environment to make the process as seamless as possible for my clients. Inquire today for your next branding shoot ❤️
