I love plain and simple beanbag shots with solid backdrop just as much as my crates and basket setups. There's something magical about capturing just your little one in the frame, with nothing else competing for attention.

But here's the twist: without props or styling to lean on, these minimalist poses can be more challenging to achieve. Every tiny detail becomes magnified: the curl of their fingers and toes, the softness of their expression or the way the light caresses their skin.

When you strip everything else away, those precious little details become everything..

I swear Lightroom and Photoshop (my go to retouching apps) are just like my two boys . Once in a blue moon, they're both angels, sometimes one behaves while the other pushes every button, and other times they both tag team to drive me crazy.

But thankfully, editing photos of sweet babies and you beautiful parents makes every lag, crash, and frozen screen worth enduring! 🥹

Recently had the privilege of photographing these beautiful dragon phoenix twins! While I captured some lovely shots, the session didn't go as smoothly as I hoped.. but that's newborn photography for you. Unpredictability is simply part of every single session.

I used to stress over these challenges, but over the years I've become more adaptable. That said, newborn photography is an art that demands patience, time, and consistent practice to master and achieve great results. Perhaps most importantly, the wisdom to know when to step back when things don't work out well, always prioritizing baby's comfort and well-being above clinging on to our own expectations of a perfect pose.

It's an endless learning process, and this unpredictability is what makes newborn photography both challenging and rewarding.
