Spent a few minutes with an oldie but a goodie of a camera. It is the first time I actually had a good look at the Leica Q. There are so few buttons. Then I realized, those few buttons are the only buttons I use on a full featured camera in most situations. I likened it to traveling light. You don't need alot to enjoy your trip. Most times, less is more. It's probably not versatile enough for work, but for leisure, that's one camera I will carry around.

Photo of my garden. I haven't figured out if my garden made the camera look good or the other way round. Most likely, they complement each other 😁

Attack of the HFMD virus. Came at a time where I'm hosting my nephew for his tennis tournament. The kid is battling more ulcers than I can imagine myself having. Adults having sleepless nights because kid can't sleep well with that level of pain. Robotic cleaner on overdrive to minimize saliva contamination for some of us who are barely well. But there's always a silver lining. Plants and pets extravaganza at Suntec City! Let me count my damage... 1 x p.kiyohime, 1 x veitchii wild, 1 x p.Auburn river, 1 x p.pedro, 1 x selaginella. Need a bigger house.

The resident birds hanging around their homes in the new year, probably talking about the good weather. I think the 'good weather' weeks has started. It usually starts around 2 weeks before CNY, some years more than others. I never really noticed it until my physiotherapist pointed this out to me some years back. So far, it seems quite accurate. Blue skies, cool breeze, very little rain. I used to tell people, perfect time for photoshoot.

Happy New Year! I like new year's day. Not because it is the start of the year. Instead of saying Hi, I can actually say Happy New Year. It is less efficient but it has a feel good factor because I feel like I'm interacting more with people. New year or not, the routine didn't change. Checked on the kids, congratulated my plants for making to 2025, had my coffee and eggs, did some reading and went to play football with my friends and their kids whom we play yearly on new year's day for about 10 years now. Perhaps, new year's day is special after all.

This is a photo I took this morning of the boys. Keeping a respectful distance and a bite force that does not break skin. I consider that a good start to peaceful coexistence.

I hope your new year's day was as awesome as mine if not better. Remember, there's 364 more days to make it better.

So much has happened over this year when it comes to family, health and career. As I scrolled through the images I took over the last few years, one of my favorite experiences was when we were in Canada, together with Mika. Taken in Canmore, Alberta. This is a million dollar view. Having Mika on the trip, priceless. I'm looking forward to 2025 and make the best out of what's left in 2024.

Some weeks back I took a photo of The Chuan Park which is currently in the process of getting demolished. Taking its place will be the new 'Chuan Park'. I know what you are probably thinking but at least they didn't pay (I hope) half a million to rename Marina Bay to Marina Bay 😊 Being one of the oldest, The Chuan Park is an iconic condo for people who grew up in this neighborhood. I have only been up there once when I helped carry a drunk friend up to his place in our teenage years. Of course he returned the favour some years back, but that's story for another day 😂

The new 916 unit Chuan Park is a highly anticipated launch by Kingsford and MCC Land, slated to complete in Dec 2027. With the Lorong Chuan MRT at its doorstep, the circle line station provides easy transfers within just a few stations. KPE (I call it the bloodline of the north-east), CTE and PIE are all within minutes drive, not forgetting the upcoming North South highway that will share the traffic load on CTE.

Connectivity aside, it's near of 5 local and 3 international schools, such as Kuo Chuan Presbyterian and Australian International School. It's also near St Gabriels, which I had once wanted to get into, but didn't manage to 😅 As for amenities, there's New Tech Park (photographers should check this one out, the carpark has a very old school industrial feel, perfect for photoshoot) right opposite, NEX is on the next station and if you find one stop too short, there's Woodleigh Mall or Heartland Mall on the next. Going on the other direction, there's Junction 8. It's one of those locations where you enjoy the quietness and privacy yet close enough to amenities. If you are one of those 'not at my doorstep' folks like me, this is a worthy consideration.

Now the bad news, the launch was delayed pending Showflat approval. But, rest assured it's akan datang, maybe in a week or two (my guess). I was at the showflat 2 days ago and it looks very ready. The 2+S and 3 bedder made me feel like I was cheating on my current place 😅 If you are looking at a new place, be it for own stay or investment, feel free to contact me for more info.
