‘Gullveig’

Happy Friday! ✨

It has been a busy bunch of weeks and realised it’s been a while since I posted here, but really what’s better to end the week with other than another nordic mythology inspired portrait ☺️👌

Gullveig was a figure from Norse mythology who might have been the starter of the legendary Æsir /Vanir war. Thrice burnt and thrice reborn, later became Heitðr whose name menas ’The shinning one’.

”Skáld”

Another one from the collaboration with Frida of . ✨

History and historical aesthetics have always been one of my biggest inspiration and this is no exception.
A fantasy portrait of a Skáld.
Skalds were poets who composed what is known as ‘Skaldic poetry’ in honour of the old Nordic kings.

It is unknown if many women Skalds existed apart from Jórunn Skálmær, she lived in Norway around the 10th century and was, among others, a court poet of king Harald Finehair.
