Remember the Magic J?

Born from the groundbreaking JJ, my first encounter with this ski was just before Christmas 2013 at Mustang Powder. I was there with Tanner Hall , JP Auclair and Riley Leboe —and we scored one of the absolute best powder days of my life.

That trip would set the tone for the decade to come.

It was so good that Tanner and I decided to go back the following December. What followed was 20 straight days of ski touring in Rogers Pass, getting our minds blown day after day. One new pillow line would reveal itself after another.

From that point on, the hunt for pillows was on.

Going down memory lane to a cold day almost ten years ago when dropped into one of the most beautiful pillow lines imaginable. Turn after turn in true skiboss aura, just flying through deep snow and big pillows.

Then everything changed in a second.

Slammed his knee into his face, split a tooth clean in half, and ended up ripping it out.

The last slide shows the line and the exact moment just before the crash. One of those photos that feels different once you know what happened a few seconds later.
