Vild Bild Photography WildLife photography, landscape and nature. VildBild Naturfoto Today, at the age of 64, he continues to inspire and astound us with his unparalleled creativity.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to Roland Aalto, a true renaissance artist of the visual world. With a career spanning four decades, Roland is not your typical wildlife photographer; he's a multifaceted talent who has left an indelible mark on the realms of music, rock, modern dance, and, of course, wildlife photography. Born and based in the picturesque landscapes of Sweden, Rolan

d Aalto has spent a lifetime chronicling the breathtaking beauty of the natural world. His journey began in the realms of music during the electrifying 1980s, where his lens captured the essence of rock and the pulsating energy of live performances. But Roland's passion didn't stop there. He seamlessly transitioned into the world of modern dance, immortalizing the grace and dynamism of contemporary dancers through his captivating imagery. What sets Roland apart, however, is his deep connection with the wilderness. For 40 years, he has roamed Sweden's pristine landscapes, capturing its diverse wildlife in all its glory. Armed with an Olympus OM-1 camera, courtesy of OM Systems, Roland has skillfully documented the enchanting world of creatures big and small, feathered and furred. But Roland's artistry isn't confined to his home country. He's a true global explorer, journeying to the farthest corners of the Earth to showcase the planet's natural wonders. Half the year, he resides in the heart of France, further enriching his artistic palette with the beauty of Europe's diverse landscapes. As we gather here today, we celebrate Roland Aalto's incredible journey as a wildlife photographer, music and rock aficionado, and modern dance enthusiast. With upcoming books and exhibitions on the horizon, Roland's legacy is bound to endure, ensuring that the world continues to be enchanted by his remarkable vision.

Large Prints with Micro Four Thirds – Quality Without Compromise

One of the most common questions I receive, both from fellow photographers and visitors to my exhibitions, is about sensor size. Many photographers – and especially nature photographers – worry about the same things: Can you really make very large prints with Micro Four Thirds? Won’t they look soft or noisy?

My simple answer is: yes, you can – and it works extremely well.

Right now, I have an exhibition featuring 24 images printed at 120 × 150 cm, all photographed with OM SYSTEM cameras using a Micro Four Thirds sensor. The print quality is excellent, with fine detail, strong micro-contrast and noise levels that are, in practice, very hard to see – even up close.

If anyone is passing through Sweden this summer, don't miss the Stockholm archipelago, and then you can check out my exhibition too ;) give me a msg before i you want soo i can meet up for a tour!
