Portrait of Sumayya Vally distinguished architect, named in Time Magaizne’s 100 Leaders of the Future. These portraits were taken during the Islamic Arts Biennale 2023 where Sumayya was Artistic Director. Her presence, knowledge and sensitivity is captivating. The work she did for the IAB is more than powerful, it is historic. With some of today’s western views on Islam, the Islamic Arts Biennale is an incredible platform to show the world the beauty of Islamic culture and art. What an incredible team behind !

Sumayya is the youngest architect to be commissioned to design the Serpentine Pavilion and is the founder and director of Counter Space, a collaborative Architectural studio.

Miguel Blanco-Carrasco .bc during Noor Riyadh 2023, the largest contemporary light art festival in the world. , where Miguel was Executive Director. I was truly blown away by the beauty of the experience, the shear scale of the festival and the incredible curation of the artworks. Curated by Jerome Sans Pedro Alonzo Alaa Tarabzouni Fahad bin Naif .
Currently Miguel is Advisor at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, focusing on the development of art and culture in the city. Previously, Miguel was COO at the MiSK Art Institute, an artist-centred cultural organisation founded in 2017 in Saudi Arabia, focusing on nurturing Saudi and Arab art and promoting international cultural diplomacy and exchange. Before MiSK, Miguel was the Founding Director of Cultural Diplomacy Projects at Qatar Museums.

Fahad Bin Naif photographed during Noor Riyadh 2023, where Fahad was curator along side Jérome Sans , Alaa Tarabzouni & Fahad Bin Naif.
After studying architecture and Urban Design abroad, Fahad is now an interdisciplinary artist based in his home city, Riyadh. And works on large-scale installations, video, photography and design, all driven by his research of the urban landscape. Alongside his art practice, Fahad is a practicing curator and is the co-founder, with Alaa Tarabzoni, of a multidisciplinary artist-run studio, exhibition space and creative house, called VERY PUBLIC, in Riyadh.

Not only curator, but also a cultural agitator and artistic director, Jerome Sans is known internationally for his pioneering and creative approach to modelling cultural institutions and exhibitions. Jérôme was the co-founder and co-director of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, a model imitated all over the world, like an iconic playground for the artists and the public.

Congrats for your first Brit Award nomination! Back in 2019, I met the amazing duo behind Jungle; .lloyd and . We met while playing ping pong backstage at the music festival . After the ping pong game we had a spontaneous photo shoot together. I then got to meet the rest of the beautiful Jungle crew! What a great memory!

I had the pleasure and honour of meeting .holler and taking his portrait during 2023. Carsten’s work is fascinating. He is world-renowned for his work that delves into science and human relationships. He explores human behavior, perception, senses and various states of consciousness, plays on the size of natural elements and the notion of time. All those aspects live under what he describes as his “laboratory of doubt” – works that prompt viewers to question their approach of the world – as human exchange and social context are at the core of his practice. Focusing on the sensory experience as a key factor in one’s approach to art, his works have playfully included natural elements drawn from his training as an entomologist, such as animals and giant rotating mushrooms, together with constructions of material including steel-glass, lighting rings, mirrors and video screens. The artist is recognized for his interactive works which seek to break the divide between art and personal space.

Nouf AlMoneef .almoneef , a successful interior architect and Director of Noor Riyadh festival : the world’s largest light art festival. I met Nouf during the opening week of Noor Riyadh 2023 and had the pleasure of exploring the festival by her side. I was blown away, not only by the shear scale of the festival, but also the incredible curation of the artworks. Curated by . I was commissioned to take portraits of the curators, artists and some of the strong minds behind this major event. What a pleasure it was to meet an incredible group of people from all over the world, all connected through art.
