I went to the lake expecting the usual silence, but the pier was already occupied.
A grass snake was resting on the warm wood. Then another appeared. At one point, five of them were lying there together.
Most slipped away as soon as I approached with the camera, but one was completely unbothered. I didn’t have a long wildlife lens with me, so I slowly worked my way closer with a 70–200 mm.
Would you stay and take pictures?
