The jury worked very hard on the selection process.

“We received thousands of photographs from all over the world. They reflected all of last year’s key events. The participants oftentimes showed that they work under complicated and dangerous conditions. There were many strong submissions, and it was difficult to choose the best ones for our shortlist, and I thank our extensive international jury for their time and professional expertise,” said Grigory Dukor, the jury’s chair and the head of the Photo and Video Service at the TASS Russian News Agency.

The winners will be announced on March 24 at an online ceremony. The best photo will be awarded the Grand Prize - its creator will receive $10,000 and the winners in each category - $3,000. This year, the competition consists of four nominations - News, People & Lifestyle, Healthcare, Environment.

Nearly 5,000 entries from 74 countries have been submitted by photographers for the News Photo Awards. A Changing World contest. Among them are reporters from Anadolu, Associated Press, EFE, Kyodo News, Metropoles, Reuters, Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Xinhua, among others.
