Última partilha do Eclipse de 12 de agosto.

A totalidade permitete-nos observar a corona solar, caso contrário completamente ofuscada pelo brilho do sol, esta estende-se por vários milhões de quilómetros. Conseguimos também observar uma proeminência solar, no lado esquerdo do disco, esta alcança dimensões para além das do planeta Terra.

Totality allows us to observe the corona, otherwise completely obscured by the sun's glare, as it extends for several million kilometers. We can also observe a solar prominence on the left side of the disk, reaching dimensions beyond those of planet Earth.

Totalidade

First total eclipse and didn't want to practice or get too technical, so I just brought the camera and the redcat. I photographed with a 2s delay and the result isn't technically perfect, I did different exposures at totality from 1/1000 to 1/25. Took a few picks and turned my eyes towards the eclipse.

Thanks for all the buddies that joined the group, a forever memory.

LDN 1235 - The Shark Nebula

A 100% crop on my LDN 1235 project from 2024.
The shark Nebula is a dark nebula, its dust is illuminated by the surrounding starfield, some parts are denser hence the darker regions. The image was captured without special filters and calibrated to be color accurate, then I saturated the colors to make them more obvious.

Around 36h (300s) of integration time.

vdB 152 and surrounding starfield

Vdb 152 is a reflection nebula, also known as the Wolf's Cave nebula, located about 1400 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cepheus.

The star BD+69 1231 illuminates the gas structure giving it a faint blue aspect. You can barely see the red filaments of a supernova remnant.

This is a 100% crop of my LDN 1235 project, around 36h of integration time.

Nothing says summer like a wide field Milky Way 🌌

One of the best times to watch the Milky Way is around now! With the New Moon, the sky stays dark throughout the night. The Milky Way rises beautifully as soon as the sun sets and can be seen in relatively darks skies (bortle 4, rural skies). At that level of darkness, the eye can catch the overall shape of the arm and nothing better than to snap a few pics while stargazing.

This is around 2hish of 60s exposures, tracked.

Construído no séc XII, o Castelo de Algoso é um marco importante da região, tendo sido crucial ao longo dos séculos na defesa do território. Recebeu várias restaurações no séc XX, a última em 2004. O castelo está aberto ao público. Uma Via Láctea primaveril ilumina os céus por detrás deste monumento.

Built in the 12th century, Algoso Castle is an important landmark in the region, having been crucial throughout the centuries in the defense of the territory. It underwent several restorations in the 20th century, the last one being in 2004. The castle is open to the general public. A spring Milky Way lights up the sky behind this iconic monument.
