My trip to Auschwitz / Birkenau (March 2019)
I wasn't going to post these pictures as they where only taken with my Huawei P20 Pro as I forgot my dslr battery.
But I felt I wanted to share them as I'm very interested in the history of the Holocaust and learning about the harrowing death camps. Iv watched many documentaries and stories of Auschwitz.
Auschwitz, also known as Auschwitz-Birkenau, opened in 1940 and was the largest of the N**i concentration and death camps. It evolved into a network of camps where over 1.1 million Jewish people and other perceived enemies of the N**i state were exterminated
It is claimed that birds do not sing in Auschwitz since the Holocaust. Having witnessed both camps, which are now open-air museums, it is difficult not to agree.
The haunting atmosphere when visiting, just send shivers down your spine.
Looking at the camps 70 years on it’s hard to imagine how this could have ever happened. But in a world that’s still filled with hate, is it really that impossible? Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau and seeing these places for yourself is something you’ll never forget – an experience to take away and hold onto an hope in humanity this will never happen again.
