"Hi, excuse me! You're not supposed to be here", she said with a frowned face 🤨
"Lady, immigration just let me in this country", I replied with a bit sarcasm 🙄😄
"Ha, no you're not supposed to be in this compartment. This is females only", she responded with a smile.
"Oh, why didn't you say so first. 😬 Let me just get this photograph", I said, in a bit hurried confusion while looking around for a sign that says 'ladies only'.
"You should go before they give you a fine. There are cameras here", her undesirable response.🤷🏼‍♀️
"Ok, thanks ..." as I walked away while looking at this satisfactory photo 🧐

Just a little BTS story and my first experience of Dubai Metro 🚇 that not only cautioned me to be aware of local laws but also created plenty of doubts to take out my DLSR in days to come. Though by the end of the trip it was just my cautious paranoia, otherwise I feel I might have taken more photos through camera than my phone.

I had a bucket-list photo in mind with the train-tracks leading to Burj Khalifa and other skyscrapers during a sunset. O'well, maybe another time...

Location ::: Dubai Metro Terminal-3 Dubai International Airport

Listen to the wind blow
Down comes the night
Running in the shadows,
damn your love,
damn your lies
Break the silence,
damn the dark,
damn the light
And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
🎶 Fleetwood Mac » The Chain

Took this 30-40 min before sunset. I wasn’t really happy with the result because I usually love the lightning with its extraordinary branches artistically painting the gorgeous dramatic sky and not just one crooked line drawn by a toddler 🙄 But sometimes it is what it is ... 🙄 and yes I (purposely) got a bit carried away with saturation and contrast on this one 🙃

During night I prefer manual settings. However, I used for this photo as it gives me more chances of capturing a lightning shot during day. Check out page / website for more details and if you decide to purchase any of their product you can use code ‘USMAN10’ for 10% off your first purchase!

The city's a flood
And our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled into dust
I'll show you a place
High on the desert plain
Where the streets have no name

Location ::: Dubai Marina Skyline / Marina Beach. Photo taken from Caesars Resort Blue Waters Island. Anyone who wishes to travel to Dubai, either for leisure or business, I strongly recommend to stay at any hotel / AirBnB in “Dubai Maria” area.

I did pack my camera and a mini tripod on this trip. But this was the only time I actually took it out to capture some images. I guess I have a total 13-14 photos from that evening. Credit goes to my friend in whose company I felt comfortable taking out camera where otherwise I felt reluctant to the extent thinking that photography though DLSRs is (might be) forbidden in Dubai. I know - crazy thoughts lol or just my own excuses. Don’t get me wrong, I took many photos with my cell which I will share someday soon. I wish I was as active and prompt as you guys in sharing stuff on social media but editing / sharing really, at times, turns out quite secondary for me.

So this is how a morning thunderstorm lightning looks like at 7:30AM 😄

All of a sudden, this past Friday morning, it got quite dark. Just got a couple of decent photos before winding up quickly as it started raining.

Due to the same, I must say, it took me the longest time EVER to edit this photo and clean it up as much as I could. There were quite a few water droplet marks on the raw image even though I was frequently wiping the lens clean with a cloth. Enjoy!

We all want to take better images. And we can sometimes be convinced that will happen if we get that better camera, those new lights, a better-looking subject! However, that’s not always going to be possible. In this episode, Gina and Valerie discuss how you can take better images without upgradin...

Photo-2 : the view at 50mm

Photo-4 : Behind the scenes lol

My migraine led me to stop here as to get meds from my luggage. I ended up spending half an hour here and took some photos in the end.

Location ::: Gamon Bridge, Gamon Rd, (40 min drive from Mingora Swat)

Point of interest :::
1. Gamon Park - a small park you can stop by, walk down towards the Swat River. A 30-40 min stop-by attraction if you are passing through!
2. - After crossing this bridge Barikot is a small town holding archeological value dating back to Alexander the Great from 1700BC. I didn't get a chance to explore. But locals say it is a good 2 hour stop-by to explore.

Photography for me is therapeutic. Photography effects my mood and my edits reflect that mood. I tend to edit and share only when I am feeling happy. Otherwise the edits turn into dark themes that never make it to this platform lol. Here, mood led to coloring the sky of some of my old photos. Later on I added blur. See before/after of 5 different photos. enjoy!

You too can easily achieve this abstract look by:
1 » In-camera using slower shutter speed while panning across horizon that is projecting beautiful contrasting sunset/sunrise colors. Try it out even with the cityscape/street with contrasting neon lights - Just Pan!
2 » Do what I did here, take old edited photos, open them in photoshop and used "Motion Blur" & voila!

Something different from the usual so called 'themes of my gallery'. Last time I shared such photos here was 2 years back 🤭😄
