Margalla Hills Trail 3 Islamabad: This is a steep trail that starts at foothills of Margallas on Margalla road, opposite Sector F-6. There is ample free car parking space. It is subdivided into other tracks on the way and it also meets with trail 5. Total distance of track is 5.75 kilometers and can take from 2 to 2 1/2 hours of moderate to rigorous hiking. Total gain of elevation is 615 meters from base to the top. There are no water streams on this trail but there are local people selling fruit and water at various points. There are benches available on the track for people to relax. Many people go around 2 kms, enjoy the views and then return. You get beautiful views of Islamabad and Faisal mosque from view points on the trail. You can also go all the way upto Pir Sohawa road where the track ends at the point near Gokina security post, overlooking Monal. You can take taxi to come back via road. Best time to go is early morning or in the evening. Take water and fruit with you. Please take your trash back with you and protect the natural beauty for times to come. here are pictures and video of the trail up to Monal.

Jamal Garhai is an ancient site located 13 kilometers from Mardan city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Research says it was a Buddhist monastery from the first till the fifth century AD at a time when Buddhism flourished in this part of the Indian subcontinent.This site attracts many researchers from national universities and also tourists from all around the globe. Since its a little far from main Mardan, the ride gets a bit tricky. Different projects are under way to protect the site from being unearthed as it is believed that in the past, numerous parts of the site went missing.
The ruins of Jamal Garhi are believed to have been first discovered by British archaeologist Sir Alexander Cunningham in 1848.
