The Directorate General of Antiquities and Archaeology, in collaboration with the District Government of Thatta, has organized a Heritage Walk in Makli. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Mr. Sarmad Ali Bhgat, for spearheading this initiative. Heritage walks are a rare occurrence in Pakistan, yet they are vital for connecting people with their history. These walks provide an immersive and experiential understanding of local culture, architecture, and stories that textbooks simply cannot convey. This collaborative effort by the District Government of Thatta and the DG A&A aims to highlight the rich historical layers of Sindh's heritage. The Heritage Walk is attended by local and international delegates from diverse backgrounds, including archaeologists, social media activists, media personnel, educationists, conservators, and historians. We would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Mohammed Ali Manjhi and Dr. Stephane for their insightful talks, which added immense value to the event.
