Story of my life till now.
The man thought for a minute
"I really like blue.."
The boy flashed a smile at him-
"I think I do, too!”
So with the balloon in his hand,
the boy skipped and he twirled,
because as long as he had it,
he was the happiest boy in the world.
We take little things for granted in life when they have the potential to give us uncomparable joy. Looking back to when having a balloon in hand would mean the world, we’ve all become nihilists. We are so petrified of society’s pressures that eventually we start bowing down to every desire of the society. Bed ridden for 6 months with a broken ankle, I made a decision to not be that person. To never grow into the person who lives enslaved by routines_ to do what I feel like doing and not let society bring me down whatsoever. To to happy. My parents forced me into Computer Science at Iqra University, but I knew I wasn't going to do it. I had zero interest.
Dragged myself through a semester, took a stand for myself, I knew I couldn't do it when my interests were the exact opposite. I changed it to BBA and I am doing good.
Expressions always appealed to me, whether of nature or people, they always told me untold stories. We all have that untold story that appears on our faces, but never gets worded. I wanted to preserve the silent expressions, Hence I started taking photographs trying to decipher those tales. It became a hobby, later a passion. I started with an old Nokia phone with 3 MegaPx, not having enough money to buy a DSLR and continued taking photos from phone. I always motivated myself by telling myself, it isn't the lens, but the man behind that matters. Eventually I bought a DSLR and delved into photography and videography. I competed in GIKI Media Festival and won it consecutively for three years. Started as a member of TectIQs and reached the level of Deputy Director. I also produced the video promo which catered a hundred thousand views. My video was also featured recently by 60 second international film festival this year. I think this is the start, and for me, the right track. I know the journey to the success is long, but never impossible. Never give up on your desires and interests.
