Final Day 🏔️ Khukhush Lake → Langar → Home

The trip that started with a 6-hour trek finally came full circle. Hiked back down from Khukhush Lake to Langar, where our bikes were waiting and then hit the road back home.

Looking back at these days, from that brutal first hike to fishing on a lake we'd never even heard of before this trip gave more than we expected. đź’™

Day 3 we fished our way to the end of Khukhush Lake.

‎Woke up to our first daylight view of the lake. Today's plan: reach the far end, fishing along the way. Locals say Khukhush Lake stretches around 5 km (roughly 3 miles)  so it was a slow walk.
‎Reached the end of the lake, Day 3: slow, quiet, and exactly what this trip needed. 🎣💙

‎Day 4 a full day just to explore Khukhush Lake.

‎No trekking today, just exploring the shoreline and viewpoints around the lake. As evening set in, we wrapped up the day with some quiet fishing by the water.

Day 01 🏔️ Gilgit → Langar
Started early morning from Gilgit city, heading towards the Gupis–Phander road. Passed through Gahkuch, Sherqila, and the stunning Khalti Lake before reaching Langar, the last village before the trail to Khukhush (Baha) Lake begins.

Reached Langar by evening and set up camp for the night ready for the real trek ahead tomorrow.

Day 1 done, the real adventure starts now. ⛺🌌

Deep in Gilgit Baltistan lies Khukhush Lake  also called Baha or Hundarap Lake, A hidden alpine gem few have ever reached. 🇵🇰

‎Khukhush Lake also known as Baha Lake or Hundarap Lake  is an alpine lake in the Gupis Tehsil of Gupis-Yasin District, Gilgit Baltistan, with a surface area of 2.081 km², making it the third largest lake in northern Pakistan after Attabad and Karambar lakes.
‎
‎It's roughly  8 to 10 hour drive from Gilgit city followed by a 3 to 4 hour hike, along a rugged, unpaved route between Phander Valley and Shandur Pass that requires a 4x4 or dirt bike.
‎
‎There are no hotels here  it's strictly a camping destination,making it one of the most untouched, off-the-grid spots in Gilgit Baltistan.
