The San Pedro Art Collective joyfully ignited the first day of the Sampaguita Festival 2026, in partnership with the San Pedro City Tourism, Culture and Arts Office . Together with vibrant merchants β€” Skye Prints PH on their delighting creative stickers, Sweet Mess Corner for serving up delectable cookies, CAPRI Island cafe for offering flavorful bites, and Ssp SocCom of Landayan for having religious souvenirs like stampitags β€” plus many more passionate vendors, the festival blossomed into a tapestry of artistry and culture.

Most of all, heartfelt cheers to the local artists who courageously unveiled their masterpieces, painting the festival with the colors of imagination and the soul of San Pedro. 🌸

This body of work is a quiet testimony of becoming.

Each piece is shaped by moments both seen and unseenβ€”seasons of growth, surrender, healing, and renewal. Through lines that move with intention, forms that echo nature, and light that gently emerges from within, the works reflect a journey not of perfection, but of grace.

"Formed by Grace” speaks of a process guided beyond human strengthβ€”a form that happens in the in-between spaces, where faith carries what the heart cannot always explain.

The linear elements represent structure and continuity; the trees and florals embody life, resilience, and unfolding. Together, they create a visual language of persistence and quiet transformation.

This collection invites the viewer to pauseβ€”to recognize the beauty in becoming, the strength in softness, and the sacredness of growth. It is a reminder that we are all being shaped, held, and gently led by a grace far greater than ourselves.

PANALANGIN KAY HESUS SA BANAL NA LIBINGAN

O Hesus, sa pagkakasala ng tao, Ikaw ay isinugo ng Diyos Amang puspos ng awa at pagmamahal upang tubusin ang sangkatauhan sa pagkakalugmok sa kasalanan. Sinasamba at pinasasalamatan Ka namin. Ngayong kami ay tigib ng hapis dito sa lupa, habang aming pinagninilayan ang mga sandaling Ikaw ay nakahimlay sa Iyong banal na libingan, at alang-alang sa paghihirap na Iyong tiniis at sa mga biyayang tinamo Mo para sa aming kaligtasan, dumudulog kami sa Iyo, hinihiling namin na ipagkaloob Mo ang aming pinakamimithing grasya sa mga oras na ito.

(Tahimik na babanggitin ang mga personal na kahilingan.)

Ipagkaloob Mo Panginoong Hesukristo, na tulad Mo: Kami ay patuloy na maging bukas sa kalooban ng Diyos Amang nasa langit; magkaroon ng kababaang-loob sa oras ng kahinaan at pagkakasala upang patakbo at puno ng pagsisisi, kami ay buong pusong magbalik-loob sa Iyo; na mamuhay ng may di matitinag na pananampalataya at pag-asa; ng may pagmamahal at paghahangad na maglingkod at mag-alay ng sarili sa aming kapwa gaya ng ginawa Mo sa amin.

Nagsusumamo kami Panginoong Hesus na nakahimlay sa banal na libingan, na sa pagsapit ng sandali ng katapusan ng amin buhay dito sa lupa, matamo nawa namin, sa langit Mong tahanan, ang bunga ng Iyong ginawang pagliligtas. Sapagkat Ikaw ay Diyos na nabuhay na mag-uli, at ngayo’y naghahari sa Iyong kaluwalhatian kasama ng Espiritu Santo at ng lahat ng mga Banal, magpasawalang hanggan.

Araw ng Kagitingan reminds us of the courage and sacrifice of the Filipinos during World War II.

In a heartfelt sharing with Mr. Mike Tabuyan, historian of San Pedro City Tourism, Culture and Arts Office, Mr. Divino Reyes, and Mr. Aster Bedico, President of San Pedro Art Collective, we revisited the painful truths of our nation’s downfall and the lasting impacts of war.

Their reflections remind us that valor is not only found in battle, but also in remembering, learning, and honoring those who endured. Truly, a heartbreaking yet powerful moment of history retold.

The photo exhibit "WW2: SA LIKOD NG LINYA NG KALABAN" is still open for public at CAPRI Island cafe until further notice.
